Once upon a time Kay was asked to represent the Niagara District at its annual convention in San Francisco.

She said yes for 2 reasons; she had never been to SF and a former teammate and good friend, Kate now lived there.

The meeting was a bore, but the swim in the SF Bay, early Sunday am was well worth the trip.  Contrary to husband Ken's fears, Kay (in black wetsuit but colorful cap) was not mistaken for a seal or eaten by a shark.
